UIC Industrial Design at NY Now

UIC Design was well represented at NY NOW, the biannual exhibition formally known as the New York International Gift Fair, August 17-20, 2013. Materious, the practice of Stephanie Munson and Bruce Tharp, UIC Design Associate Professors, received a "Bloggers' Choice Award" for Cut Once™ Heirloom Wooden Ruler and Pen-tray "An immediately appealing, whimsical and a clever reinterpretation” of a traditional desk accessory. Also exhibiting were Strand Design, co-owned by Ted Burdett, Instructor, UIC Design Foundations, (image: Concrete Door Stops) and Ferrone Design, the practice of Felicia Ferrone, Instructor, UIC Industrial Design, debuted the 'Margot Collection' glassware.
