Philip Thompson: Spring Industrial Design Lecture Series
Philip Thompson is Vice President of Design at Newell Rubbermaid where he leads global efforts to advance the design of a broad spectrum of consumer products ranging from Sharpie pens to Calphalon cookware.
Thompson’s current position is his latest venture in leading the design team of a manufacturing/marketing entity from analysis of a disparate product portfolio through cohesive actions to world-class design. Prior to Newell Rubbermaid, Thompson worked with Masco Corporation in Chicago and Whirlpool Corporation in the U.S. and Italy.
Under Thompson's leadership, Whirlpool Global Consumer Design received a Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian National Design Award in 2002.
